Sizing

Which size should I buy?

We recommend getting a proper fit from an Authorized Edea Dealer. This ensures the perfect fit, and if required, allows the dealer to do custom shaping.

Can I compare shoe sizes with boot sizes?

Shoe size is only a rough guide, at best a starting point. Shoes are designed to flex whereas skates are designed to keep your foot still in the perfect position. A fitting with an Edea dealer will ensure the best fit and the ultimate in performance.

Can I just check my friend’s boots? We are the same size.

No! Everyone’s feet are actually slightly different. The memory foam will be shaped for them. By checking their boots you may think they’re too short when they are too narrow or vice versa. Sometimes, the pressure points don’t match and so the right size can feel wrong. Always size with new boots.

Can I just take one size up from my old Edea boots?

No! Growth is not uniform and can vary in a year. The changes are not always proportional. Sometimes skaters have been compensating for big boots by over tightening laces and deforming boots so it’s always best to get measured.

Can I just use my size from another brand?

No! Edea boots are designed differently for performance and so fit differently. To get the maximum performance we recommend getting measured.

Can I just use the size comparison on the box?

No! These sizes are for reference only. Use one of the three sizing methods. For the best fit, nothing beats the personal touch so pop down to your local Edea Authorized dealer.

What happens if I buy boots that are too big?

Apart from underperformance and less fun, other more serious consequences could happen. From boots being damaged, blisters and pain, through to more serious long term injuries.

If I have boots too big, is it ok to use 2 pairs of socks?

Thick socks or 2 pairs of cotton socks (a material that stretches and moves freely) can move around your foot, creating blisters or rubbing and less security. For skaters whose feet are still growing, Edea recommends no more than 10mm growth room. This means by […]

Which width should I buy?

90% of skaters use C width but narrower and wider options are available in our ice and inline collection. The key in skates is the heel pocket which holds the heel in place. Larger widths also mean larger heel pockets. An Authorized Edea Dealer will be able to offer the best advice and using Instant […]
