Which blade size should I choose?

Edea provide a suggested blade size chart but this is only a guide. Ask your coach if he/she has preferences. Should the blade fill in completely from heel to toe?

How can I know if the blades have been mounted correctly? Can I use the design on the sole as reference?

The design on the sole is purely aesthetic and not a reference for assembly. The only way to check if the mounting is correct is to skate on the ice and feel aligned.  As alignment is so important, we recommend only using a professional skate technician. They have the skills, the tools and the expertise […]

Should the technician use Edea screws?

YES, THEY MUST USE ONLY THE EDEA SCREWS THAT ARE SUPPLIED WITH YOUR BOOTS! This is because our screws are specifically designed to be compatible with our thinner soles and they are engineered to increase the hold. The tips have also been flattened to remove the risk of discomfort.

Does the blade need to be fixed using all the holes?

Not all of them, but most of them. Apart from the first test mounting where all the slots are fixed, then we recommend leaving maximum 1 or 2 empty holes in the toes and 1 in the heel. Trust your technician!

Can I use any blades on Edea boots?

Yes, as long as it’s the right size, any blade model can be used on Edea boots. The mounting of the blade has to be done by professional skate technicians.

Can I change the blade on an already mounted shoe?

Yes, you can replace the blade with a different model. Your technician knows how to fill the empty holes and make new one to fix the new blade.

Do new blades come already sharpened?

How often should I sharpen my blades?

It depends on how often you skate, on the ice and how you take care of your blades. There are skaters that prefer to sharpen them once a month and those who prefer three times in a year. Remember to use the E-guards off-ice, to wipe the blades carefully after each session using the blade […]
