The first round of the Grand Prix Skate America ended in excellent results for EDEA skaters.

In the Ladies, Gracie Gold skated the best free program of her career to finish 2nd

while in 3rd the Japanese Satoko Miyahara took a large leap in the evaluation of her program components.
15 year-old Kazakh Elizabet Turzynbaeva was the youngest skater in the competition making her debut on the circuit with a brilliant 4th place. With an exemplary performance in the short program the 16 year old American Karen Chen finished 5th just ahead of the 17 year-old Russian Julia Lipnitskaia while Slovak Nicole Rajcova set a new national record with a highly technical free program.

In Milwaukee 18 year-old Korean So Youn Park finished in 9th while 19 year-old Alaine Chartrand came 12th impressing experts with her triple axel in the free program.

In the mens, EDEA celebrated the success of the 23 year-old American Max Aaron, who showed amazing jumping technique with quadruple salchows and triple axels. The public loved the performance of the 19 year-old Chinese Han Yan who missed the podium by a whisker after being 2nd at the half-way stage. The Australian Brendan Kerry was also much appreciated as, to the sound of quad toe loop and triple axels, he set a new national record.

In the artistic pairs half of the podium skated in EDEA boots. The American Chris Knierim, alongside Alexa Scimeca leapt to a brilliant podium place with a quadruple twist of excellence. Newcomers Julianne Seguin and Charlie Bilodeau finished an amazing third on their Grand Prix debut. The young Canadians also smashed their personal best by 11 points. Also notable was the 6th place achieved by Daniel O’Shea and partner Tarah Kayne. The young American unveiled a quadruple salchow in the free program.

In dance there was a noteworthy performance by the American pair Anastasia Cannuscio and Colin McManus who took a quantum leap in their points tally.

Overall 17 athletes skated in EDEA Boots at Skate America.
